How does one make wine?

The most basic answer to this question is that wine is made by fermentation. Grapes are crushed and their juice is permitted to ferment, normally with the addition of yeast. The yeast consumes the sugars in the grape juice and convert them into alcohol. There are, obviously, lots of more information included in making red wine.


The type of grape, the climate in which it was grown, and the soil structure all play a role in the taste of the red wine. The fermenting and crushing procedure can also be controlled to produce various tastes and styles of red wine. White red wine is made by crushing the grapes and separating the juice from the skins prior to fermentation. Red wine is made by squashing the grapes and permitting the skins to stay in contact with the juice throughout fermentation. This contact provides red white wine its characteristic color and flavor.

There are several kinds of wine, and the information of how they are made vary depending upon the design of wine being produced. In basic, however, white wine is made by fermentation of grape juice.
